Facebook Video TEST

On Saturday, Kristy and grandma went out "garage sale" hunting.  This is some video that I took of Caitlyn experimenting with some of her toys over the weekend.  The teddy bears that wrap around her legs were her first Valentine's Day gift from her daddy.  She's changing and growing so quickly.  I'm trying to get a lot of video footage of her speaking skills.  Should make a great little video collage one of these days. 

It's nice that Facebook now offers embed codes on their video.  Haven't decided yet if I like it better than what Vimeo has to offer, but thought I'd give it a go.

Good Memories from California

Here's some video footage I threw together of our time with my brother and his family back in late January. Great memories!

In particular, pay close attention to what Pria is saying during my "interview" with her while she's in the stroller.  The last line seemingly comes out of nowhere (but probably not from her perspective!)  Cracks me up EVERY TIME.  (As does her little Caitlyn tackle.)

Also, despite Caitlyn being horrified of the wings (towards the end), it was actually her idea to wear them in the first place.  =)

Human Rights Celebration & A Little Caitlyn Update

We've had a nice trip through the mid-west in the last few weeks, from Denver to Minneapolis to Southern Wisconsin to Chicago.  Little Caitlyn has done well, despite sleeping in a different place every few nights.  Her "speech" (if we can call it that) has been taking on more distinction as if she's making quite an effort to form words.  And just tonight, she was beginning to pivot on one foot with tiny little steps, as if she's just on the verge of walking. 

In other news, I came across this brilliant little animation video in celebration of the 60th anniversary of The Universal Declaration of Human Rights.  (See also the Human Rights Action Center website for a better quality version in Quicktime.)  Have a look . . .

Happy Birthday, Little Miss Caitlyn!

We've had a bit of a rough transition back to the States, but things smoothed out in time for a relaxing birthday for Caitlyn today.  Kristy caught some sort of nasty stomach bug from the plane ride (at least, that's the best explanation we have) and was out for a couple of days after we landed.  Below is a little video that I put together for Caitlyn's first birthday.  (Music by Rogue Wave, Ingrid Michaelson, and Jack Johnson.)

A Post to Help Us All Loosen Up During This Election Season

Just a couple of "funnies" I've come across recently.

First of all, I just can't get enough of The Onion.  If you use iTunes, I highly recommend subscribing to The Onion video podcast.  Especially since we (as in, Americans) start to fall into the trap of taking ourselves far too seriously in the run up to a big election.

A Perfect Weekend for Crawling Around

It's been a light blogging month.  Loads on my mind that I'm wrestling with.  Great new music being discovered.  Etc, etc.  Just a little less space in life to type it out and throw it into cyberspace.

Off to England and Adventures in Baby Napping

This week has been busy and full of activity (with Serve the City in particular).  Tomorrow afternoon, we board a RyanAir jet with fear and trembling, hoping that our luggage isn't lost (or worse) during the brief trip over to Luton.  RyanAir nightmares aside, we're looking forward to spending some time with friends there in Luton.

With the help of the miraculously easy-to-use iMovie, I managed to throw this little video of Caitlyn together today.  She's beginning to learn how to get around, which makes nap time interesting.  After doing laps around her cot bed (crib) a few times, she's exhausting herself and practically starting her nap in mid-stride.  The first clip in the video is from last month when she fell asleep on her face, leaving harmless welt marks which went away 10 or 15 minutes after she got up.
