Kevin Drew's Directorial Debut (starring Cillian Murphy & Leslie Feist)

A few years back, I remember reading this interview between Cillian Murphy and Kevin Drew.  Kevin was supposed to be interviewing Cillian, but it ended up being a reciprocal kind of thing where, by the end, you forget who is interviewing who.  I loved feeling like a fly on the wall listening to one of my favourite songwriters (though only recently discovered at the time) sit down for a conversation with a phenomenally talented Irish actor. 

Fast forward to present day.  When Kevin and fellow Broken Social Scene bandmate, Leslie Feist, began discussing a video for one of Feist's songs, it turned out that Kevin was actually interested in making more of a short film.  And who else to invite to be a part of the project but Cillian Murphy.  I'd seen headlines and articles about the film, but never figured that I'd actually get to see it since it would likely only be doing the film festival circuit. 

Imagine my delight when I noticed that Pitchfork were showing it on their video site!  I can tell you, after having seen the film, it really is something special.  Methinks we'll be seeing more of Kevin Drew in the directing chair on a number of small indie productions.
